Something Blue

15 Aug

Looking through pictures of past brides this morning, we stumbled upon one of our favorite something blue ideas from Mani Mela Bride Meredith (as seen above). Meredith chose a shiny Swarovski crystal I Do for her something blue, which we thought was fantastic!  We love when brides choose unique ways to incorporate old traditions in their weddings, just like Meredith did here! Today we’ll show you Mani Mela’s favorite “something blue” ideas.

  • Blue Thread: This picture was love at first site. Having your wedding date (or something else special to you and your partner) sewn in your dress in blue thread in a fun way to keep a special memory that just you and your loved one will see.

  • Blue Mascara or eyeliner: If it fits your taste, blue mascara or eyeliner can be a fun way to add blue in to your wedding day look. Of course, it can always be done in a more subtle way than shown in this picture, or even more dramatic if it suits your style.

  • Blue shoes: Sporting some blue kicks is a bold new look for this old tradition! For brides with long dresses, your shoes will probably be hidden for much of the day so you don’t have to worry about being too bold if that isn’t your thing. But for those with short dresses, you can show off your personality and vibrancy with this burst of blue!

  • Blue flowers: Your bouquet doesn’t have to be full blown blue, especially if that doesn’t fit in with your theme or wedding colors, but adding a touch of blue to your bridal bouquet is a gorgeous way to not only add a bit of fun to your bouquet, but to take part in this well loved tradition.

  • Blue nails: This can be done in a variety of ways – either a full blue blown manicure or pedicure, or you can keep it simple and add a blue rhinestone to your ring finger. A french manicure with blue tips would also work! This light blue is OPI’s What’s With the Cattitude?

  • Blue Intimates: Blue lingerie  is a sexy way to keep the something blue tradition alive! We’re sure your hubby will be thrilled to find out exactly how you honored this old tradition. Click the blue lingerie link to find out how you can buy these adorable panties!
